Once involved in the life of the community 'Calcutta Marudyan' aims to fulfill other basic needs:
A Deep Tube-Well: one thousand feet deep for arsenic free, clean drinking water for the school children and the local population.
Village Hygiene : Building 45 toilets with septic tanks for basic toilet facilities.
Environment Concious: We distributed and planted 5000 young trees in the area.
Bringing Electricity: electrical power had to be brought from far away with kilometers of cable and poles.
Helping However We Can: wheelchairs for local polio affected patients, study-books for someone with college-scholarship but no funds, medical help for a boy who broke his collarbone, distributing clothes, supplies, tons of rice and other food items. Simply bringing a glimmer of hope.
On Children's Day we work together with the Family India www.familyindiafoundation.org and other NGO's in the Delhi area to create a very special yearly event for 1500 to 2500 children of poor institutions, slums and schools.
