Our Vision:   Education

Our Motive:  Service to God & Mankind

Our Motto:   Act Today

Marudyan Society was started by John Beentjes, his personal family and volunteer co-workers. We put up his personal picture so you would know that this society is a real thing and that they live in India and work here. John says: "We came to India in 1997. Since our arrival we have worked the first 7 years in Calcutta, then in Bangalore helping in Tsunami relief work, and now New Delhi area. As volunteers we have dedicated our lives in service to God and fellowman".

In the year 1998 we formed the 'CALCUTTA MARUDYAN' society. The main objective of our charity is to bring sponsored education to the mainly out-of-school children of the less privileged rural and urban families and give sponsored vocational/skill development training for older students and adults to improve the standard of living and to alleviate poverty, regardless of religion, caste or ethnic background.

Gouri Dhali lives in Jharkali village. She is nine years old. She is trying to catch little fish in the mud. The fish are half the size of her finger. Her neighbour was killed by a tiger this year in a mud pit like this.

Can a child like Gouri get a good education? Yes she can, if you spend a little less each week and send it today as sponsorhip!

My name is Sunny. My father’s name is Pappu, My father works as a helper and my mother works as a sweeper. We are 3 brothers and 2 sisters, my parents do very hard work for us. Because of money problem my big brother did not go to school. But now because of this school, we get so much help. In other schools my parents cannot pay the highest amount of fee. I want to make a successful person in life and want to help my parents. That is why I pray to God that he blesses us.

The question is not if you will have problems, but how you are going to deal with your problems?

"It's impossible" is a vicious cycle. It's the modus operandi for the loser.
It thrives in the hearts of those who are heedless of its dangers; it breaks down noble aspirations, shoots down high goals, and shatters dreams. Impossible is a thief in the night, robbing you of courage, zapping you of bravery. Impossible, in short, renders one useless.

Remember, "With man it is impossible, with God nothing shall be impossible!"

"THERE ARE TWO SIDES TO EVERYTHING, LET US LOOK AT THE BRIGHT SIDE" Mahatma Gandhi

Let's look up there is only mud under our feet

Don't advertise your trouble - people are already oversupplied

Enthusiasm is the force necessary for climbing the ladder of success

Opportunity is sometimes hard to recognise, because it is usually disguised as hard work.

The more difficult the obstacle, the stronger we become after hurdling it.

Troubles are often tools by which God fashions us for better things.

Great minds discuss ideas - Average minds discuss events - Small minds discuss people.

Two kinds of people that never amount to much are; Those who cannot do what they are told & Those who cannot do anything else.

Friendship doubles your joy and divides your grief

A smile is a light in the window of the soul indicating the heart is at home.

Many of life’s failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up. (Thomas Edison)

The better a man, the more mistakes he will make, for the more new things he will try.  (P. Drucker)

Mistakes pave the road to achievement.

A cult is a religion with no political power. —  A religion is a cult that succeeded. (T.Wolfe)

Nature gave us two ends: one to sit on and one to think with. Ever since then, man's success has been dependent on the one he used most

When we seek to discover the best in others, we somehow bring out the best in ourselves. (William A. Ward)

"IF IT IS TO BE - IT'S UP TO ME!"

I am the one who chooses how I feel by choosing what I think.

Ninety percent of all those who fail are not actually defeated. They simply quit. (Paul J. Meyer)
